Default 01 RS Need some help

So I just traded my TSi for a 2001 2.5RS and it has a few issues.

Does anyone know of anybody locally that is good with transmissions? The car has a 5spd that 1st and 2nd work great but 3rd grinds unless rev matched and 4th just pops out, however 5th is good.

I am on a pretty tight budget with this car so I am looking to try and stay cheap. I was on nasioc and looks like there are a couple 5spd's for sale around 500.00 but after shipping

Just looking if anyone has any advice!!!

Also if anyone has some RS parts lying around you want to get rid of please PM me with it, I am looking for a bunch of stuff.

Thanks,

- Mike

Look up Ryan West 06 on here... He's the Shiznit from what I hear... I would definitely give him a shot once the time comes for a clutch install.

Thanks rex!

Well cpages2, just read your pm! If you leaking fluid you need to bring it by and let me see why its leaking...

Either your syncs are going bad or you could be low on fluid. I just need to look at it. check your fluid then PM me!

Anything done to the car? how many miles?

Will eventually do STI swap, but since the budget is oohh so very tight I just need to get the lil EJ25 running good.

Ryan,

I just PM'd you again. It has 1XX,000 Miles and as far as mods go there is a ACT Sport Clucth (Cant remeber which one), Fedenza Flywheel, Exhaust, GAB Coil Over System and Intake.

Thanks for the insight!!! I know I am waiting for Ryan to come out and look at the transmission and depending on what he says is what I will do next.

So far teh car is running great, a far cry from when I got it. It was leaking oil, transmission fluid, bairly started, mis-fired, smooked everytime you stoped and had several thousand CEL's

But I luckly had 4 days off work so I got almost everythign fixed and the car runs like a 2.5RS should lol

Im going to snap some pictures and post later. It is such a wonderful thing when I walk out my door I see an STI, WRX and 2.5RS... I can remember being much younger and dreaming of this day.

I wish the day would hurry up when you can pick up 2.5 rs for $1-2k running. I wanna build an AWD rally car now.
