neither... I like Valvoline 75W90 (same as OEM) in the tranny. I do run Royal Purple in the rear end tho.

None of the above! Go to Mastro say you want the GREY bottle transmission fluid. The smoothest shifting possible on the 5spd.

i tried royal purple for my motor oil choice once....and i mean once at that. I went to mastro and had them put in some of their RP. The next day, they drained it out and i got it replaced with normal synthetic. Also, i got my money back. it made the car feel like crap. the car felt like it had something wrong with it.

Sure, i know this is motor oil, but who knows what it will do for the rest of the parts of the car.

I only use Motul in the engine. For being such a good product, i will most likely use Motul products for tranny fluid and stuff.

1qt redline lightwieght shockproof
1qt gm synchromesh
rest castrol hypoy c

it's not magic but it does help the older trannys. i really couldn't tell a difference between it and the motul. hell even picking up the stock fluid is probably just as good.

I use the Motul, I have used the redline shockproof stuff as well and RP is in my brothers car. I like them all but they are like 12.90 per quart... and I noticed no difference between any of them.

Subaru has realeased a new fluid only available in huge containers right now but it is awesome and i would recomend it for any subaru manual transmission.Just waiting for them to release it in smaller containers.
