need some subi info...
well i am selling my truck, its not very practical since i have a family and im bout ready to dump a shit load of money into it building a lt1 for it and have decided to cut my loses... im lookin at 02+ wrx's, of course im going to be going to a stealership for one for financing and id like to kno what to look for on these things that are problematic... only rule i have is it must be a standard. i jus want to be a lil more informative so i can try to wheel and deal with the stealership on a price. any info or what years to stay away from. Thanks Jameson
I have an 02 wagon with a lil over the 100k mark...and it still runs strong and i have quite a few mods.....only thing i know of to watch out for is the 5spd tranny....which is what i have its good....but i was told they are very weak...
do you want a wagon or a sedan?...if you plan on playing with the car and making north of 300 whp you should consider the sti (as its tranny can take 500+) or look into building/swapping a tranny...
just a little thought in to your decision making...

I agree with him but if the STi is to much check out the 06-07 They have the 2.5 now so it has somewhat of torque. And just be carefull with the tranny and you will be fine dont Launch every day and ur good

the other catch with the USDM 06-07 wrx's is they went to a push style clutch from the typical pull style. There isn't as much offered in the way of high end clutches for it yet...but there will be soon as I'm about to forward my test info to carbonetics right now
im look at the 02-05's. lookin to finance less that 16k (as ill be putin 4-5k down) im lookin for a sedan and a sti would be nice. ive drivin my friends 05 and it was the shit. thanks for the help guys... anything else i need to kno?
if you plan do do and engine swap the easiest upgrade is an 02-03 wrx because a ver7 sti is plug and play short of 8 wires for AVCS (that have to be wired in)...extremely simple swap that is a great upgrade...
