very... that is for liability purposes.

They even asked for a show of hands of who has not ever ridden at high speed on a track before. They had a staff member run the first few laps with those people until they got used to everything. That was vey cool!

Anyway, it was a great time.

The STi really is an amazing car. It had no trouble against most of the cars out there.

I gotta tell you unless you take 16 perfect you arent going to get over 130 on the long course either... trust me. the back straight is fast going into seven and if you car is not setup right for it you wont be able to do it that many times. Coming out of 3-4-5 complex you can really get going I have used 6th gear in my STi before... but honestly the least important thing on the track is the speed you hit on the straigh. Its all about transistions and line not how fast your car can go the top speed you attain is purley a function of your corner exit speed. And btw you can pass cars with more power and embarass the hell out of them in your little subie... (that is the really gratifying part) I have video to prove it too

Well put. When you do get up over 130 on the back, entering 17 gets intersting. A well setup subie can fly through the inside line(through the bumps) on 17 faster than most cars. In my previous setup, I could top 4th (6spd sti) and shift to 5th right as I hit the apex of 17 and be in for almost the entire front straight. When I was able to do that, I could put many lengths on much faster cars that were right with me on the back straight. Its a great track for our cars.

I could get to 130 in front of the grand stands on every lap...

that last statement is just not true for GT35'de STi's

I was using 6th gear at times

Well, with a gt35 and an extra 100 hp or so, I would think not. You can make up quite a bit with HP on those long straights. If more so if you are set up well for the turns too.

I would shift to 6th at 3/4s down the back straight, never on the front. This is on the stock sti turbo, but a good suspension/tire setup

I agree with Chuck on the 17... I was running the exact same setup as his car through 17 and could make it through @ 100 and get the car up to 125 entering turn 1 which is where you really pull away from cars with less grip and suspension carring speed around that corner and late apexing so you shoot straight into 3-4-5 complex. Great track... really hard on teh brakes though.

Yeah, even with motul and an rce cooling kit, my hawk hp+ would cook. Really need some better rotors and pads. The worst is the hairpin. I attached a pic of how my front calipers look now. The line down the caliper is front where motul boiled out of the bleeder some how. They were tight, but i tightened them again and they no longer do that. Notice the deep gold color, bubbled powder coating, and now black writing
