If it was cheap then by all means...the deal is the 38mm are very prone to leaking and cannot be used with race fuel. I'd take it apart and check to verify that is indeed a 11psi (big red). Then I would get a small red to go along with it. That would give you just over 17psi spring pressure.

Never heard that before. Any more info on it?

^^I have....they are more prone to leak because they are held on to the flange by 2 bolt instead of V bands like the 44 mm wastegate. I think mine will be fine though with the tial gasket. We'll see.

So, by having a total spring pressure of 17psi it means that my EWG will not open under 17psi correct? What happens from 1 psi to 17psi? Will the boost still be easy to control under 17psi?

Yeah I figured the flange difference was the culprit, I was primarily interested in why race gas is a no-no, though.

probably due to higher exhaust temps blowing out the gasket. A lot of people just use permatex sealant as the gasket and thats why they blow out.

So, you don't have any problems with the EWG opening during normal driving?

No it will open below that...My calculated pressure is 15.95psi (Big blue/small yellow) and it will start to crack open as low as 11.5-12psi on occasion.

Yes, boost is still easy to control.
