Default Couple questions

couple of questions

1. how many O2 sensors are there on a 2002 wrx Impreza and where are they all located?
2. If I have the cats removed and want to hook up a air/fuel guage , does it connect to an O2 sensor and which one? or where does it connect?
3. what programs are available for tuning and where to buy/how much are they, do I need a lap top etc. How hard/easy is it do do?

Thanks!

you have 1 o2 sensor. it is on the down pipe near the end. the other senor is a egt warning sensor. Utec is the why to go if you want total control of your tunning.(hard, and laptop needed) ectek(easy, latop also needed)

1) one on the downpipe
2) Tap it into the downpipe right after the turbo, leave the factory o2 sensor where it is
3) Tuning is hard if you never have tuned before, you can easily blow up your car so either do some exstensive research or just leave it to professional.
Some EM for tuning include: UTEC,Ecutek, Cobb, Easy ECU.

North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club is a encyclopedia of information for these cars

no it's not, and you don't delete the front o2 sensor. your car won't run ....ever.

you deleted an egt sensor.

lol ummm well how does my car run! look man... there is a o2 sensor in the up pipe and on the DP. the up pipe one i deleted because i got a perrin 3" which deletes it all together. When i bought my gt-spec header it came with a bigger up pipe. problem was, i took the o2 sensor off the car. my car runs like a champ..... there is no o2 sensor on the header at all.

in order for your car to be able to tell what af it's at it has 2 o2 sensors. the first one tells if the car is running stoich at idle and what not. the other tells if it is meeting the emission restrictions. the first o2 is a wideband o2. the second is a narrowband o2. hence you don't need the second since it is emissions.

you have an o2 in your header at the collector. you have four wire that are covered in a black protector connected to the passenger cylinder head by the spark plug. they run down and connect to that o2.

the only thing in a wrx uppipe is an egt sensor. sti's don't have them and most aftermarket uppipes don't either.
