intercooler question...

Default intercooler question...

im planning on getting me a fmic and doing the bov maf relocation mod. plus i will like to powdercoat the piping,but i would like to know if i can powdercoat the intercooler tank too or would that affect in anyway the way it cools?

It depends what color, if black I would just use radiator paint. I think a powdercoat is thicker and wont cool the actual core as good. I dont see a problem with the piping though.

either leave it the way it is or paint it black. my rex is just like urs,silver black wheels,lowered,no wing, i think the main diference is that i got a Greddy front lip painted black. so thats how i wanna keep doing my car in black and silver,thats why i wanted to paint the core in black too even though it looks good stainless

If you paint the piping black its all going to chip/scratch off during install. But if you powder coat the piping it will hold up to all that. But dont powdercoat the core cause it is just way too thick. But yeah like Jon said you can just use radiator paint on the core.

how is that radiator paint,is it flat or a glossy black? i mean not that i care cause i would paint it either way,but just wanted to know

i just ordered a can of satin black. you can get either glossy or satin whichever you prefer.

relocating the maf before the throttle body and after the bov,instead of before the turbo. that helps if ur using an atmosphere bov.
