There is a huge rebirth of diesel worldwide including a new push coming for the US. Most automakers are going to get into this due to new advances in diesel technology making it much more efficient and clean. Gotta say that i wouldnt mind some of the turbo diesel cars for a daily driver as they have great low and mid range power.

I still want the touareg v10 TD. That thing is bad, especially with a flash

I'll be all over it. If it comes out in 2008, my current car will be paid off, and it will be even more of an excuse to mod it more if I have a 2nd car!

can you imagine how crazy the aftermarket scene is going to be for subaru if they DO go turbo diesel for the wrx and sti?
the company's would have to have a n/a market for the small group like me that want performance in their non-turbo'd cars, then have a gasoline turbo market, and then on top of that now they've got to develope a diesel turbo engineered group of products to serve that market. chaos.

this could be good or bad though really,.... this could seriously drive the prices of the gasoline turbo upgrades down significantly. that or else the new turbo diesel upgrades are going to cost an arm and a leg even compared to how expensive upgrades are as is

Diesel + 60psi = fun

Can get into all sorts of fun with sequentially fed turbos. I would say however that at least for the near future, the deisel models will not be the higher performance market
