Default dreams.... a swap

okay, this is just my attempt to get the general consensus of opinions regarding my plans for my future swap (8 months?) which should i do..

usdm wrx ej20t with ej25 dohc heads

jdm wrx ej20tt with ej25 dohc heads

sti ej25t

06 Legacy ej25t

usdm ej20t

my ej25 has 145,000 miles on it, so I don't know how much trouble I'm asking for if I use these heads, even if they are reconditioned. that's why I'm asking you guys.

also, I don't know how big of a deal it is to properly wire and tune a jdm engine, so i ask you.

This is a daily driven car, I'm not looking to put 400whp down, it would be great, but I'm simply looking for the most bulletproof and reliable setup while being able to bring a smile to my face.

think of this as a poll, i'm not asking for a big long write-up on an engine swap and the individual parts i'm going to need, I just want simple opinions to get me pointed in the right direction so that I can spend my time wisely researching what i need.

thanks

If your not looking to realy boost the thing high just have someone rebuild your engine. Most of the internals can be upgraded and you would have a bulletproof set up if your going to keep the mild turbo street car theme. Why dont you post what your looking to get out of the car and what you wanna do. They we can figure the best set up for you and dissagree this thread away.

I am looking for about 250-300 whp of reliable, daily drivable power. I want to have enough power available throughout the powerband so that i don't have to punch it to accelerate, like i do with my present engine. I'm looking for efficiency more than anything, I want everything to work well together to give me the most out of what I've got.

I want to have the power available when I need it without having to strain the engine. i know that this has more to do with tuning than anything else, but I'll worry about that once I've figured out what engine setup i'm going to use.

I plan on upgrading the engine after the swap unless I'm able to find the exact parts i need. I find that highly unprobable as I was planning to either buy a front-clip or a new engine and the needed parts as needed.

additionally, anybody know of a good source for engines?

since your poll didnt reflect what your OP listed, i said EJ 257, but for that power range a WRX EJ205 will do just fine. It will probably be cheaper to get a full WRX motor then it would be to build your internals.
