So how long have you guys been into Subarus?

I know I have been activly involved in the subaru community for almost 7 Years now and I really dont remeber anyone that frequents this forum.

Zate and Opie are the only two on TR that I remeber from Years ago. But back then no one really came to TR for Subaru, everyone mingled on I-Club.com (before the breakup in to nasioc & i-club).

I know a lot of new people just got into Subaru's, but I am curious to see how many die hard suby freaks we have here.

i havent been active in this community until about 2 years ago. I almost got a suby for my first car back when i was 15. Since i didnt get the suby, i complained to my parents that it was supposed to be the car i should've gotten first. Then, a few years later, im in an sti. So, were lookin at a good 5 years of interest

 

I've had my RS for about 5 1/2 year... and have wanted to Turbocharge it for about 5 year now (that's the one thing I ask for but never get for Christmas... hahaha), but started my search about 6 months before I got the car. I was so amazed and mad after I bought the RS, because they came out with the WRX in the states, but I love my Scooby and N/A "ain't" so bad!!!

 

Dont be mad!!! GC8's are bad ass!!! I miss the aggressive look!!!

I remeber begging my parents for a 98' RS when it hit state side. Instead I got a Legacy lol

Dont Turbo your RS!!!! I have had 4 friends with GC8's that have attempted to turbo there car and all ended bad.

Subaru has always been on my mind for a while, I loved the GC8 and when the wrx was released to america I was dead set on getting one, so when I could afford it I got one. I have been active in the community since I have had mine, which is a little over 2 years now.

 

ive wanted a subaru since i was about 13 or 14 but didnt get one because i couldnt get my lisecne and my parents couldnt afford to buy me one =(

 

WOW some of you guys missed out on good times.

Subaru meets back in 2000 were very funny. It was like 5-8 people, usually 3/4 RS's and rest were XT, Legacy GT cars. Not to mention almost everyone was a die hard Subaru nut that knew there stuff.

I can remember our First Big dinner meet was at Carrabbas in Tampa, Pete Mastro bought us all Desert.

Then there was the First Mastro Meet in 2002 When the WRX first came to the US. We had over 40 GC8's and few other various subarus from around the US. This was also back when mastro's lot was nothign but dirt next door. So a few guys had some fun while we all watched. That was the best meet ever. I think I got 3 Subaru Shirts, 1 Subaru Jacket and a Scale Model of a WRC car just from the meet.
