Default Cobb Question

What do you think of the Cobb Stage 1 or 2 suspension packages? It seems the easiest/cheapest way to do it since it's in a package. Do you guys have anything else you'd recommend or is the Cobb stuff pretty decent?

Cobb is pretty respectable stuff. It depends on what you want to accomplish with this setup. Also I'm going to be sending you a PM shortly I have a question to ask you.

Well the car understeers alot and I want to lessen that as much as possible and also have less body roll.

you should talk to mugenR. he has the stage 2 setup and i would have to say he loves it. but, if you are planing on doing some track and autox events, you should probably do some futher stuff. if you are really confused on what to do, talk to scott siegel. i swear, i mention this in every reply. he has helped me with so much with power and handling. so, if i were you, write him an email off of his site or call 1-404-388-8751. he pretty much answers right away. so yea

Coilovers and sway bars w/bushings will take care of that understeer

Cobb is not known for their suspension so much as their engine stuff. For springs, you may want to check out the new RCE(race comp engineering) springs which look very promising. I will be testing and reviewing them in a couple weeks. Some stock STI struts are plenty good for the street and quite nice. For sways, look into whiteline and hotchkis. My personal recomendation is the get the same size front and rear as it makes the car rotate better. Some gruppe N top mounts will helps things too. And they key to making it all come together is a good alignment with some negative camber...at least a degree if not more. Always a little less negative camber in the rear than the front. As much negative camber as you can stand in teh front is what takes care of a lot of understeer. I personally run -3.25 degrees, but thats a bit extreme. With all this it will be a different car. If you want to go more extreme, then step it up to a good set of coilovers, but only if you are going to spend the money for the good stuff.

Also, there is a pretty good alternative setup at a great price in the F/S section right now

I did a custom alignment from Robi-Spec. Robi flew into to FL to setup a bunch of evos and my sti. He did the setups for crawford and apr in the SCC USCC as well as entering his evo.

This is what he taught me about alignments and WRXs/STIs

Mass production alignment machines like Hunters can be off by a fair amount and nothing beats old fashion measurements. He uses a camber gauge and two custom laser straight lines for racing alignments and a measuring tape.

Rule of thumb for our cars on numbers is...zero rear toe, a hair of positive front toe to the point your are comfortable (mine is 1/8" total), as much negative camber as you can possible get in front, extra postive castor in front is good..ie ALK, and slightly less negatvie rear camber

I over answered the alignment question, but with this info, you can take it several places. I would recomend Cars and Concepts locally
