I think what he is trying to get at is that it wont work well since you are not tuned. it actually runs like crap with an intake untuned. i actually took mine off when i first got it. but as soon as i got a tune, it was definitly worth it. Also, as i always say, scott siegel loves CAI's. Only during a tune haha.
+1
stock intake is good for at least up to 350whp. your money better spent elsewhere.

There is a difference between what a part will support and if you will gain power by changing it. A 2.5" exhaust will support 350hp, but that same car may make 400 with a 3" exhaust.

A good inake will gain power, however the stock one will do fine if you do not want to get one.

I myself have switched back to the stock intake mostly because I dont care for the load intake sound, but have lost noticeable hp in the mid and upper end

get EM before dp. you'll benefit more from the dp when you have EM combo with it. my suggestion is Cobb's AP. but if you have the money, do both. but if your worried about the warranty just AP.

and stock turbo, then stock intake. stock turbo wont get you 400whp. if you must have an intake then k&n or aps are preffered choice for the STi.

Cograts on the purchase. Ive had my 06 for a year now. I have the APS 3 inch TBE and intake and had no problems. I have since had an ECUTEK tune from Doug at TOP SPEED when he down here last year. A good healthy tune will make a night and day difference. Enjoy.

LIKE I SAID PEOPLE HAVE THEIR OWN OPINION. He has done wonders on my car and i like his tuning style. I have to say he knows his stuff. so check him out and ask him anything as you need be.

You should also look at Log In. That's a great site with a lot of info on it. Seacrh around there, and you'll get an idea of what to do for your car.
