Default Tire Question

Hey, I'm looking to get new tires (Falken Azenis). Will a 235/40 fit or should I go with 225/45? I still have stock wheels.

I think the rule of thumb is the most you should go over stock width is 20mm. In which case I would go with the 225's.

My race tires are 235/40 on 17x7.5" rims. Your speeedometer will read faster, and you'll turn slightly higher rpm for a given speed. The tire guys had a hell of a time getting them on though, since the sidewalls were so stiff.

Going with a 225 won't hurt. Its what I run on the street.

Sorry to hijack, but I too am about to get tires on a 17x7 rim.

Anyone else run 225s on 17x7s? I have 17x7s and run 215/45 right now and I'm not sure myself what tire size to get. Pretty sure 225 maxes out 17x7s and excessive sidewall bulge is something I want to avoid.

Anything?
