Default HKS D/P vs. the rest *your thoughts please*

I tried doing a search about this topic but I was not successful in what I was looking for.

Recently, I have come to the decision of getting the car tuned with the EcuTek program. However, the thought of going with a catless D/P has been crossing my mind as well.

When I purchased my car a month ago, the car already had an HKS D/P. I had it removed and replaced with a full stock exhaust system for fears of buying a car and have the warranty shot.

I currently have the stock D/P with the SPT cat-back exhaust. I have heard of going with Invidia for the D/P. My friend has the Invidia D/P on his STi and swears by it.

My question here is what are your thoughts about the HKS d/p. Should I use that one or sell it and get a different one?

What are the benefits/downfall of a divorced W/G flange on the D/P?

Please give me some feedback on this topic as I continue to learn this platform. This way I can make a better decision if I'm keeping the HKS or get rid of it.

Thank you for your time.

IMO, sell the HKS DP and buy a Bellmouth or divorced unit like the Invidia or Helix

The HKS is very inefficient. Unless you plan on going with an upgraded turbo in the stock location with an external wastegate. The bellmouth veriety of DP's are what the consensus prefer. IMO, sell the HKS and basically just do a "pick one" so to speak with the bellmouth DP's. They are for the most part the same thing. As far as the divorced wastegate thing goes, it is designed to "control" turbulence in the merging of exhaust flow between the turbine and wastegate.

That seems to be what others are saying as well.

How much can I get for the HKS? Just to have an idea before I post it for sale or put it up on EBAY.

Thanks!

For the STi. I want to know what I have first before I get rid of it...

Well, a used HKS DP may get 100. You should see if WTF Chuck wants it.

I'm going to sell the HKS and get a new DP...

Right now I found the Helix DP on Gruppe-S.com for 199 shipped. That seems to be a great price.

I'm also looking at the Invidia as well.

I cant wait till I get this biatch tuned...
