Default I got the STi back from Mastro. I have a question

I had the car over at Mastro to finally install the hoses it was missing and read the right boost. I have a question though. The car is boosting ~15psi, however, it seems as if the power is not linear. It seems to starve for fuel and then kick back in. There are other times that I go WOT, and I feel as if I'm not going anywhere... I hear the turbo spool louder, but nothing. No "umph" when I go WOT. Then I found out the boost gauge hose connector nipple was broken. I fixed that part, however, its still giving me hesitations.

What do you guys think its happening?

Another observation was I would go WOT from low RPM, I see the boost gauge go to 11psi and after a higher rpm, it kicks to 15. Is this normal? The car feels numb to me.

I tried listening for leaks, but I couldnt get any. Dont get me wrong, the car is accelerating and gets me pretty quick... Just not used to the way its accelerating.

If you've reset the ECU recently, give it a few days to catch up and tweak things. I notice that my car seems a little sluggish right after an ECU reset. The burst of power you describe could be the changeover from closed to open loop fueling.

I spoke with Mastro about it. I'm going to be test driving another STi tomorrow to get a feel on what I should be looking for. I think the ECU has something to do with it as well as the open/closed loop on the fuel. Some times this car just hooks and takes off. Other times, it just drowns.

I will have it looked at next week.
