IIRC the 06s dont have a cat in the uppipe so you dont need an aftermarket one.

dude, a tbe will make a good difference. i started off with a catback which was good. then i got a dp and wow! i was thrown into my seat. Since you have a wrx you might have to get a tune with it b/c i know of a few people who are hitting a cut when they are in wot.

+1 on the tune, but a down pipe wilth the stock catback will make quite a bit of difference.

EXACTLY what i did. and yes about the fuel cut .. it was gettin pretty bad at one point when i put on my invidia v2 catless dp + the hks bov that my car would lock up while goin 35 mph for no reason. then i uninstalled the hks bov and everything stopped. but i DEFINITELY suggest to get Cobb or Ecutek before ANYTHING!!!! Cobb first and then the turboback. TRUST ME!!..i wouldve done anythin to do Cobb first and regret buyin the tbe now(altho thx to manny i got a steal deal for my catback $150 new condition and then from mauromotorsports the invidia catless v2 polished dp for ONLY $250!!) . So u have 500 now and just save 150 more and u will know u did the right thing and best for ur car! lol its worthit and plus u know Cobb really doesnt depreciate if ever selling down the road... next for me is Cobb. hope they dont have a monster backorder!!
