Default Where to Start??

So, I'm thinking of buying a used WRX. I've always been a streetbike guy, but now I have a family and had to sell all my toys. My only problem is I really don't know where to start when it comes to working on these things. I think I've got a bone stock 02 w/ 58K miles on it pretty much purchased. Good starting place/bad starting place? And where do I go from there, w/out the obvious bolt-ons?

Thanks!

Depends what you want out of the car. What are you plans/ goals. Good daily driver = stock with BPU Auto-x = focus on suspension and keep max the stock turbo with meth injection and tuning, Drag/track= bigger turbo, meth. All depends on what you want

Right now, I just want a good daily driver that I can work on on the weekends and play around with. Something that's going to be fun and not get me into too much trouble.

In that case leave it stock.......if you stilll must have a little more power then do : Turbo back exhaust, Uppipe, and tune. I can't stress how important tuning on these cars are if you mod them. Trust me......I am on my second car and 3rd motor

I know this is gonna sound bad, but what do you mean when you talk about getting it tuned. Wow, that hurts just to ask.

They have 2 different types of tuning. Either you by a Cobb access port, UTEC, or send your ECU off to be ECUTEK licensed and they give you a standard "off the shelf map" which is just a general tune for basic mods and is usually very safe and rich. Or, the best would be a custom tune where and experienced tuner adjust you ECU to maximize power from your mods.

Gotcha... I'm still new to this and trying to learn it all. Where are some good tune shops or good people to take the car to down here in the Tampa/Brandon area....oh yeah, I live in Brandon...hooray.

That sounds expensive! Oh well, if you want something done right, you have to pay for it, right? If you get the cobb or UTEC, how much does that generally cost you?

Also, does anyone know if anyone else is selling a stock to semi-stock 02-04 WRX right now? I've been tearing up the internet the past 2 weeks and haven't really found a whole lot.
