Some shots of my new shoes
Just got my new wheels/tires The wheels are 18x8.5 +40 porject ssIX model 5. They are a new line made by RH and sold exclusively by MCD (racing zone). Tires are Nitto-NT-01 DOT-R road course tires which are especially fun on the street. The are a little to big on the profile so they look a little funny, but Nitto does not make the size required.
Also, the rear is sunken in quite a bit which is not the fault of the wheel but rather my extreme suspension setup which decreased the rear track width by over and inch on either side. Normally these wheels would come out flush in the back

Nice man ...

HAHAHA....I was at a Nitto track day in CA, and several of the guys had their NT-01s painted like that.
Once these tires wear out, I am probably going to buy a set of 17x9s as the fitment will be better for my setup and 17" tires are cheaper. New tires every 4-6 months gets pricey
These tires are insane BTW. A whole different relm of grip. I went around a hard left at when they contacted the fender lining, it ripped it right out in one clean motion. Barley even hurt it since it came out so fast

245/40/18. I have almost an inch or room. However, do to the alignment and sticky higher profile tires, my fender linings removed themselves. One on the street, one on the track. I need to raise the car about a half inch and remember to tighten the dampers on the track
Retail on the wheels is 5xx/wheel. I think some of the vendors selling them put them on sale for like 450/ea. What is most intersting is the fitment with the 40 offset. Typical is 48 for an sti which i think is not agressive enough. Wheels stick in too far even on a stock car. With these, you can actually have it look right.
