Default N/A Impreza

I know it's all over the net, but are they any locals who have done it?

What's your opinion on building a non-turbo impreza?

Note: I have zero knowledge on subies.

I am building one for SCCA competition. Your going to put alot of money into it to get good hp numbers. What goals are you trying to achieve with the N/A build?

Mainly for daily driving with the monthly drag/autoxing for fun. Nothing serious.

~275 would be nice.

Would it be technically correct if there's more hp, more fuel would be used, thus less MPG?

this was my goal for awhile. I filled up quite a few sheets of paper fine tuning the necessities to get the heads to flow that well n/a, same goes for the intake manifold. It's not easy, but it's not impossible.

I will assume it won't be cheap either.
Probably better to just slap on a turbo kit.

Will there be some internal motor work needed for going turbo? such as rods and bearings.
Im pretty sure the ECU will have to be modified.

yeah there is one guy on NASIOC that is getting STI power at the crank but he has spent big bucks. I would say if you are going to turbo the RS tear it down and use at least STi rods and some STi pistons and yes you would have to use a piggyback comp or standalone em.

by the time your done, a full USDM STi swap would seem cost effective. And it's factory, and the RS weighs hella less.
