06 STI Performance goal suggestions
My goals for performance is over 300hp at the wheels with AP, CAI and TBE.
I received my Cobb Access Port last week. Flashed Stage1 93oct. Now have 17ish psi boost seen on the AP in live boost mode.
To get to stage 2 exhaust modifications need to be done. I would like to know what your thoughts on the following...
What are the downpipe performance differences between divorced and bellmouth?
If divorced any difference with the cat placement before or after the wastegate tube join?
Will I notice a difference in the capabilities of a full 3" TBE v.s. a Cobb 3" that has the reduction to 2.5 in the downpipe flange?
I am considering the Cobb catted TBE or the Mad Dad V2 catted 2 piece DP and Mad Dad Whisper 3" catback. Has anyone directly compared these two exhausts? Any performance opinions on these two exhausts?

For your performance goal I would think that the Cobb TBE would be sufficient. If you plan to change turbo's in the future then your gonna want to have full 3" piping.

correct me if im wrong but...
a bell mouth on the the sti turbo doesnt block the wastegate next to the turbine ( i think thats what it is). when you block the wastegate, you create back pressure which you do not want in most cases, because better air flow yeilds more power.

Divorced wastegate isn't blocking it seperates the streams. In the case of this DP the wastegate tube is semi catless to accelerate the gases to prevent boost creep. At least that is what MadDad has said.
