Default Part of my stage 2 arrived today

Only thing I am really wating on is my cobb ap and then I guess the time to go and get a baseline dyno run somewhere.

In the instructions, it states that 5mm of the divider needs to be shaved away when running the stock sti turbo

I wasnt aware that Cobb had CAI maps available? Does having an APS system mean so much that you'd pay extra to have a DP that needs to be modified before you can use it? Whats the benefit?

It won't matter. I believe the APS intake doesn't throw off the MAF readings.
Its fine to run other minor mods outside of cobbs specs. Its just a map like any other. It's the same as if you did bolt ons w/o EM. You can have them, you just wont see the full benefit until your retuned for it.

Looks nice but shaving away a piece of cast iron does not sound like fun.

Yeah, i wasn't too happy when I read the instructions and found out I had to shave down 5mm of metal for it to fit my car. The non sti wrx has to shave down 7mm. Oh well, I found a place near me that has a lathe so I will have it milled down on Monday.

So what happends when you want to change to a different turbo? Do you have to buy a whole new DP?

The APS exhaust sounds very very nice. I'm quite sure you'll enjoy it
