My friend picked up a 1999 Impreza 2.5RS lastnight from Mastro subaru.

Well today on our way home his car just stopped. I came down and pushed it off US 19 for him. I looked over the car for him and deducted its the MAF, once I unhook it the car runs fine (well for what ever thats worth). Once its plugged in again the car just dies.

We called every dealership in the area, including mastro and no one has the part. We also went to all teh surrounding auto stores and they also dont have it. The earliest we were told it could come in would be Thursday of next week..

So I have 2 questions.

1) Does anyone have one lying around or know of one we could obtain?

2) Right now he is semi-driving, we notice the car wont go over 3500RPM. So what is the downfall of driving without MAF outside of no revs and bad gas milage? This is his only transportation, and hes only had it for less then 24 hours. Can he use it till a MAF comes in, just driving cautiously? Or will there be problems?

Mastro should fix this for you. Did you call the salesman? At least in GA *ALL* cars have a 3-day 200 mile return policy...
