i have AP and love it. i had Scott tune my car with protuner when he came down last time so i'm gtg now with a custom map. also, the economy mode just sets your boost to wastegate pressure which is like 5psi so it's not like it's "economy" or anything, it just keeps you out of a lot of boost when you stand on it. if i had it to do over again i'd still go AP just because i like puching buttons and toying around with shit and it just one more piece of shit thing to keep around in my car

I have the AP and I just put in economy mode when I first filled up and I'm getting 23 mpg vs 18 mpg before. But I think I'm going to put it back to Stage 2 because economy mode isn't as fun.

Hope youre not making a habit of punching it using the economy map. It also bumps timing and runs the car leaner...youre asking to det. like that.

Light-throttle cruise has NOTHING to do with WOT. A good tune should make great gas mileage at LIGHT throttle cruising, and still be full-power at WOT. The "economy" stuff just reduces boost for more throttle.

Well, I have one for my 04 WRX, but you have to take my results with a grain of salt... I'm kinda beyond what Cobb would recommend for Stage 2. I drove to Atlanta this past weekend and noted approximately 25mpg no matter which map I used. Also, EGT was no different, if that matters to anybody. My ported turbo wants to spool so much that wastegate pressure or not makes no difference, it will run barely in vacuum at 80mph. One stretch of about 150 miles I did run 33mpg but it was mostly "downhill" the entire way.

I love the switchability of the AP, and would like to get a higher octane map made for auto-x. I'm even considering getting a UTEC instead. I have no idea where I want to go in terms of future ECU upgrades.

My analysis? If you want inexpensive power off the shelf, or don't have exhaust work done yet and still want upgradability without having to retune, the AP will work wonderfully. If you want your ECU to take full advantage of your particular engine, go with the Ecutek.
