Default Heatwrap, yay or nay?

Ill be getting my car back soon and putting my downpipe back in, my question is should I wrap it or not bother? It wont be seeing a tune for a little bit and I have heard some people having problems with the tune with a heatwrapped downpipe. Someone help!

Wrap that rascal. I haven't heard of anyone having trouble with a wrapped pipe during a tune. Including myself. SS actually said having it wrapped would not affect the tune btw...

The stock ecu does not like the change in exhaust velocity. It does work wonders on tuned cars.

Wrap it and if it gives you trouble then stay off it until tuned. Always take steps forward I say.

I didnt know the o2 sensors read exhaust velocity. But wouldnt the engine love the drop in intake temp? I was running a downpipe with no heat shield.

They dont, the car wont run right b/c of how picky the ecu is. I have done wrap on alot of cars and never had any problems. But on this ecu the car went wacko. James had the same problem with his when he did it and was not tuned. I am going to wrap my turbo and d/p just not till its tuned with it there.

the issue is....

you hit boost sooner and the ECU doesnt know why. so it pulls time`ing, and in some cases will fuel cut. but if your going to get tune`d do it. if you get your car tuned with it on there, there wont be any issues. if you get tuned then put the heat wrapp on you will have issues.

and the miles you put on the car befor it is tuned should be very easy miles anyway. you shouldnt see any boost at all

If you are tuned why would and then add heatwrap, why would there be issues?
