"White smoke" when the motor is "cold" could be just water vapor. My car does it in the mornings when the temperature is < 70 degrees or so.

If its thick white smoke, that's coolant burning. But that would probably happen all the time.

Sounds to me like just water vapor. Does it goes away when the car warms up?

White smoke isn't oil, oil is blue smoke. White smoke is coolant.
