JonWRX: now thinking about a sti shortblock
What all would I need to do the swap on my WRX, or will ej20 heads fit on an STI shortblock without any modification? What pros of getting the STI block rather than getting another ej20 block? Thanks for the help.

its not gonna be a bolt in and go deal.
ull need injectors, larger turbo, larger IC, fuel pump, and management to get it to run correctly.

EDIT: It was on stock injectors. Check the link here. Jon take a look at post #25 for the cost of the swap, labor and all.

You will need to plug two "breather" holes on the 2.5 block that are not present on the 2.0 when running WRX heads. Also, the compression will bump to 8.5-8.6:1 when using an STi headgasket. You could get a Cometic and bring the CR back down to 8:1. Since you have it all out, might as well do larger injectors, pump, tgv delete and new timing belt. Oh, new plugs as well. Everything else will transfer over. The stock td04 turbo will feel rather small with the added displacement so start saving for a snail as well. That should cover it.
