Faded is right, we have some i/c piping problems b/c of the new Tial BOV. In addition, the fuel lines are questionable at best. I think Alex is going to upgrade to stainless lines and be done with it. It has been started but with these issues, we decided its better not to try and rush it out the door. He has come this far with the car it seems silly to let these issues go and posibbly become bigger.

You have to give Alex credit though, this poor car has been through hell and back and we are finally getting her straight.Through it all, Alex has done a great job of keeping his head, definatly a pleasure to deal with. Now we are just going over everything and making sure everything is good to go. Lots of time in this one.......

Got the rails with 1000cc injectors, and no, there is currently no heat wrap whatsoever. Because of how closly everything is in this engine bay, I really think we need to protect some of the vital components. The turbo sits @ 3-4in. from the firewall and @ 10in higher than stock which puts it right in front of the brake lines and some electronics. You can see the turbo through the hood scoop VERY clearly. I worry about vapor locking the brakes without a blanket you know. I realize that air rushes through the scoop but I dont think it will be enough. I have been talking to Alex about it.

Thanks for the kudos Dave. I read your thread on Auto-x....how did you do or didnt you drive?

i got fith in my class.... need to work on the driver mod....

if your worried about heat, jet hot coating and heat wrap will help 1000% after i ran my car on the dyno i litteraly grabbed my headers to prove the shit works....

also you can tear down the turbo and have the hot side coated. makes a huge differnce.

there is also other forms of heat dispersion material.

think my set up is one of the most put out on a 30r on 92 with a healthy tune, ever....

the benifits are so awesome.... plus with all of my other cooling mods. my car runs very cool.

heat is the devil when it comes to power

Its my understanding, that if you can keep the heat in the exhaust as long as posible,(like 2 ft past the turbo), you make the most power as well as protecting vitals and keeping the intake charge cool. I had thermo-tec wrap on a small block set of headers and did the same thing Dave...grabbed the collector after a good run to see if it really worked. Amazing. The biggest problem with heat wrap though is the astetics. For true, performance people, that isnt an issue, but for most street guys, looks are just as, if not more important.

That isnt the issue with Alex though. Right now the plan is to get him his ride back and progress from there. Everyone knows these cars are NEVER done.

On a seperate note.....did you hear that most of the big hp pro cars (1200 and up) are actually running smaller (read 3.5" vs. 4-5") exhaust to increase exhaust velocity? I'm talking to some people to learn more about it. Let you know what I find..... make sense though....any thoughts?
