Default APS intake...

My friend with an 06 STi wants to install an APS CAI in his suby, and we're going to end up installing it ourselves because Maestro won't do it. They said to be careful because the check engine light might come on. Does any one have the APS CAI installed and did you get a check engine light?? Or what should we do if in fact the check engine light comes on?? Thanks.

I had the APS intake installed about two weeks before my car was tuned and had no problems or check engine light in that time period. I bought it at Mastro. Not sure if its the 65 or 70mm. I beleive the newer ones produced are the 65mm.

APS has started to make the 70mm intake again for people that have highly tuned cars.

The 65mm is what you want for an otherwise sotck car.

The box it comes in will have the bore size on it, too.

the intake has the "65" stamped on the inside of the bore, at the turbo inlet hose side (see below)

the p/n should be APSWRX-HFA/01

i have installed this on the 2004, 2005 and 2006 sti and never had a CEL engage.

there is concern on the 2006 though. the brakelines have been raised up a bit, making it VERY difficult to get around. Dave and i had alot of trouble getting it to fit, really. also, the bumper tabs (inside) protrude too far into the air filter area, making for another issue....

if you want help, i can show ya the tricks done to get it to fit the 2006.

ese

ps- measure the bore at the engine hose side.....

this is the 70mm version
