Default Question exhaust/check engine light

Tried searching to see if this had already been discussed and had no luck, so...

In '01 I bought an 02 WRX I put an MRT exhaust on it which caused the check engine light to come on. I had the car Ecuteked and after that no more problems.

Move to today, in March of 05 I got my STI. It is currently stock but I would like to put an exhaust on it, will the STI give me the same issue with the check engine light (I have no interest in having the car flashed)?

I am sure some of you put in a new exhaust and wanted to see if your light started to come on.

Thanks

the light will come on with the sti too. you can always put on a mechanical fix. you can get them from autozone. there is also an electrical fix made by pny and a few other companies. either work well for getting rid of the cel, especially if you arent looking to reflash.

Gordon, I can show you how to do the mechanical fix, its easy and I haven't had a exhaust CEL. or You can call Pony Express and buy a electrical CEL fix. Both are easy to do. LMK!

Just beware of boost creep if you put a turboback on an STi.

Mechanical fix FTW!

there is a resistor that you solder in on the 2ndary o2 sensor that makes it go away. the only purpose of the 2ndary is to tell the car if the cat is working properly.
