Hit up that Spur station on Hercules for some 100 today, 6 gallons. One of the guys who worked there said I was the 2nd WRX they sold to this afternoon. They also sell 110 leaded for those that care, or didn't know.

For future reference, I found another place in Pinellas that sells 105 unleaded. Hole Shot Engineering, 6584 50th Ave N, St Petersburg. Just east of 66th St. Called them this morning in case I couldn't find the Spur station and the gentleman on the phone said $6.75/gal. They were recommended to me by John at Automotive Engineering.

higher octane wont, but too high will. if you put 110 in a car that it's not tuned for, it wont ignite properly. so it's gonna cause a lean condition.

not that it's a bad thing to throw 100 in it, but are you having a problem with knock that you need it for a autoxfor the trouble to find it you could just make some 96 and call it a day. cheaper, easier to get, and just as much protection. then again just my .02

I'll hafta let you feel my intercooler after an autox (or rallyx) run. It burns. That means no "cooling" in the "inter", so I wanted the higher octane to help prevent detonation. That way I don't worry as much about pushing 16psi on the straights. Plus, I must confess. I love the smell of race gas exhaust. I really didn't want 110, or even the 105 (which is why I sought out the Spur with the 100 first).

I do agree that too much octane and it won't burn fast enough.
