I know that the WRX recieved the 2.5 liter this year, up from the 2.0, so the block itself is the same. The increased displacement should help cure the turbo lag that WRXs have had in the past. I am not sure about the sodium filled valves, forged rods, or other internals....anyone else?

No, its not the same motor as the STi. IIRC, its the same motor and trans as the Forester XT.

Correct.

The 06 WRX, Legacy Turbo, Baja Turbo and Forester XT uses the 255 engine code.

The STi uses the 257 engine code.

Well look what's going on with the Legacy GTs (JDM twinscroll, people getting good power) and Snowmann's Forester XT and you can get an idea of what will lie in store for the 06 WRX with the 2.5L
