Default STi Downpipe Installation Instructions?

Does anyone have a good link to show torque specs and any instructions on a "DIY" style downpipe replacement? I am still searching NASIOC, IWSTI, and the i-club forums to see what I can come across but any suggestions would be helpful. It looks easy from what I can see/reach but didnt know if there was anything I should look out for or any order to follow? Any tips are appreciated as always! TIA!

I dont know about torque specs but the install is pretty straightforward, the number 1 thing on doing the DP was PB blaster. Good luck.

26 foot-lbs (or 35 newton-meters) for the turbo-downpipe nuts and the downpipe-3rd cat pipe nuts.

Robb, I don't know what you are up to, but it sounds like fun. Are you doing any sort of EM to support the DP?

Yep! I also got the AccessPORT with the stages loaded onto it and have been trying out Stage 1 93 oct. for about 2 days now and can tell a difference already. Once the DP gets installed, I'll switch the map to Stage 2 and will see how it feels with both the AP & DP.

So far, stage 1 was not immediately faster around town... But once i went for a drive(Boyette countryside) and went through some familliar turns I noticed a significant difference without a doubt. So I'll keep you posted as to how different a Cobb Stage 2 setup is with just a DP and not a CBE. If I feel it needs more flow, then I'll probly opt for the CBE.

You'll keep me posted? Won't cut it Robb, I want to go for a ride! I'd really like to get the AP, but I won't let myself buy it just yet. I'd really love to see what Stage 2 feels like; everyone says it is a huge difference. Anyhow, PM me or something if you are down to meet up sometime this weekend. I'd really like to check it out.

Also, I don't know if you thought about getting Protuned or not, but I see that Doug from TopSpeed will be here in December and he just got the Protuning software. I think that getting a custom tune will let you extract even more power from your car, and get rid of the richness that Stage 2 has built in. I believe that he is charging $350 for the Protune. Might be something to consider.

Ok that sounds good to me! I'll PM you when I get it set up and we can take turns driving to feel the difference. I like to switch from stock to tune to really get a feel and then it makes sense to me rather than just data on the AP. I too thought about a Protune but I think his slots are all filled while he is here.....if not I'd love to get a Protune and be happy!

Alot of people like to crap on the AP, but its just like any other tune... power delivery is alot smoother than stock, and once you go stage 2 your response will be alot better too.
