Dyno?!
Dyno?!
What do they usually charge you to dyno test your car? I'm not looking for a tune, just want to see what im putting down before and after i get EM
Any local shops recommended? Which Dyno is most accurate?

Dynojets give a higher hp/tq reading because they don't take into account atmospheric influences and whatnot. Mustang dynos (not Ford Mustang) are more accurate in my book, but give lower numbers. Craig at ...CUE>> has a top-of-the-line Mustang dyno on order! It takes into account vehicle weight, outside temp, atmospheric pressure, elevation, etc etc. You can get a fairly accurate 1/4-mile time on his dyno. I believe it also has automated rollers (say for a fwd, the rear roller are turned at the same rate as the front to simulate real driving, to diagnose problems for instance).
Dynopacks hook onto the wheel hub and are generally used to regestering gains/losses, not giving an accuarte hp/tq reading.

IMO, if you're just looking to register what gains you get, run on any dyno you want for the "before". As long as you run on the same dyno for the "after" you'll get what you're looking for, which is how much you gained. Just remember that HP purists will want to know what dyno it was if you quote an actual number.
Ditto^^ and it should be the exzact same dyno... not just the same style.
i feel that the butt dyno is a good indication of a gain. what are the reasons for knowing this? just cause? i understand if it is just because you want to know.
a mustang dyno will give you the truest form of a power reading. it will allow for wheel weight, wind resistance, pressure, driver weight, and so on. but they are hard to find because they are very expensive.

There's some guys, local to me, that are going to rent the CFT Dyno for a day. We are trying to go for 15 cars that will bring out the total to $45 for 2 to 3 runs. Just base numbers no tuning. If you are interested or anyone else you can let me know, I can talk to the guy organizing it, it will be Nov 26. Saturday at CFT in Orlando of course. Normally they charge around $80 for the same service. They have a Mustang Dyno, like they said before it gives you more realistic street numbers.
