What are the benefits of an aftermarket BOV on STI?

For your current setup, not much is to be gained. If you start running over 20 lbs. you might want to start thinking about an aftermarket one.

That pretty much sums it up. Aftermarket BOVs aren't needed unless you're boosting beyond 20lbs.

at around 18 it will start leaking, thats when i would upgrade to a tial or something of that nature. DO NOT BUY A TXS RFL!!!!!!!!

I like my APS dual vent. Since I'm not going to be running a MAF I'll probably get a Tial.

What is wrong with the TXS RFL? I have and nothing is wrong with it, its a good bov in my opinion.

From what I've read, it's known to leak in moderately high PSI uses.

Pros= sound
Cons= runs rich everytime you make it blow off, unless you set it up for 100% recirculation, in which case you might as well use your stock BPV.

In short, your MAF (airflow sensor) meters the air and injects fuel for that air, however the BOV (if set up to dump into the atmosphere as they normally are) gets rid of most of that air, which means that there is too much fuel (rich) being injected into the cylinders. You will see no performance gain from running a BOV.
