A+ work again. Mine was just a "simple" retune as I replaced the intake and downpipe that I had on there for the first tune. Notice simple was in quotes.

Scott spent some time running down some problems that were affecting how the car was reacting to tuning. First is understandable: a vacuum leak. Somehow the rubber cap I had on the factory boost tee had popped off. Second I would have never guessed: the knock sensor going off because my exhaust tip was banging banging up against the trailer hitch. Or maybe it was the uppipe heatshield that just broke. Don't know.

Anyway got those fixed and it was much smoother sailing. The intake temps are SO much lower now with the cai. Car feels a little smoother than before as well.

It's interesting how different the car feels in the back seat. Boost seems to put you back into the seat more. Or maybe it's just because I'm not driving. Good stuff either way.

Thanks Scott.

Thanks to Mantra too for driving my car back for me. Man his cars sounds SO good. And fast? Man! I couldn't believe how that thing walked away when I was going normal speed! Mike (s/n?) was riding with Scott for "ballast" as I was out running errands. He's a trip. Apexi was out following along. Platnm lives up to his name, at least for his car. It was 9:30 at night and he was out there cleaning his car. Just to wake up in the morning with all that doo, I mean dew! on it in the morning. Unless he has a car cover. I think one other drove up right before I left who's name I didn't get.

Regardless enjoyed it as usual. Good seeing a few of you guys out there.

Si, worked well. Scott got all excited when I told him I used it. He said "Finally someone listened to me!". Then when he saw he he said "where's the rest of it?". Lol. Some is better than none though. I figured the wrap coupled with a modified heat shield is > just a heat shield which is > nothing.

Mine did not go so well. My car seems to be plagued with problems again. This time it seems to be an electrical problem. Scott was doing a great job smoothing out the A/F ratio to almost a perfectly flat line. Once he was happy with it, he started on the boost map. That is when the car decided not to behave. It was fine until about 3200 rpm and then it started to sputter and not make boost. Scott thought at first a boost leak, but everything checked out tight. He noticed he was only getting 9.8 to 12.2 volts. Normally he should be reading 13.8 volts. So maybe it is a bad battery. We tryied cleaning the terminals and only got a small improvement.

I had changed the plugs (1 degree colder copper for 1 degree colder platinums) the day before, so we thought maybe bad plug. Maybe even bad coil pack. I have not gotten any misfire CELs. I brought the car pack to the shop that changed the plugs (and some fluids). He metered the battery at 13.8 volts and put the old platinum plugs back in (they still looked ok). The plugs once again made a very small improvement. The mechanic did mention the filter was very dirty. So today's tasks are to clean the battery terminals and air filter really good. Also to check the volts at the cigarette lighter to see if the volts are getting to the car. I am also going to put the old map that I showed up with back in and see if the problem goes away.

At this point, I am very discourged with the car. Scott has done a great job trying to road tune a 109k+, big turbo, WRX with a Utec. I think he has sworn off Utec and high mileage Subies from now on.
