these are just MY opinion.

cons:
since the exhaust is right next to the pasenger cylenders, they get very hot and are more like to throw a rod on that side.

everything is very compact. so if you are doing something simple, it is almost worth the time to take everything off just to make it easier to get your hands where you need them.

now that all of the turbo`D suby`s are 2.5L all of the 2.0L will be very cheap.... this is both a pro and con.

Pros:
Turbo!!!

the way the engine is set up, there is a lot LESS resistance and friction as a whole.

lots more

The only cons I can think of is the space, hardly any to work on the car, like he said, you might as well take everything off. But the basic changes, alternator, ac compressor, are really easy to do.

The engine is great, balanced is perfect and the configuration of the engine and transmission is awesome. It's mounted like a V8 kind of, the only thing is weak parts on the WRX. If they where built stronger, or if we build them stronger they would be one of the best 4cyl engines to modify.

Just look at the JDM Sti engines, they can hold insane amounts of boost and will run perfect. The USDM Sti is also a great example of a well built engine/car. The WRX I believe was never thought of being so big, and that is why is was like a test car for the possible introduction of the Sti, and I'm glad they did being them over.

Very true! I also see the TMIC as a pro and con. The pro is minimal lag......the con is Heatsoak like a mf! Also the major con of the WRX engine is the weak internals!!!!!!!!!!!

If your going to modify, go right for the STi. The WRX motor does not like too much power, especially with cast internals.

TMIC will heatsoak in traffic and after repeated hard runs. Just get an intercooler sprayer to keep things cool
