+1. Opie was showing the remnants of a STi motor (valve and pieces of a shattered piston) in the oil pan yesterday at Mastro. Apparently the owner had exhaust and an Electronic Boost Controler, with no Engine Mgmt. Do not up the boost without proper tuning.

^^^^ditto times 11tybillion

but more often than not you will want to install your new part. if you have a WRX if you run more than 16.5lbs of boost on stock injector your car will blow. if you have someone to tune your car with your EBC you could run 16lbs boost okey. but it would be horrible without tuning.

They are correct. I would install it, and only boost around the factory setting, 14-15 psi. The difference is that with the factory system it will go to around 1 bar and then start dropping in the high rpm's with the boost controller it should hold at your setting, which will give you some power.

One thing to be absolutely sure of, make sure you only boost like this at WOT, as long as you are there, the ECU should be sending all the gas you need. If you find yourself on high boost and at half throtle you have a high risk of detonation, lean conditions and then blowing up your engine. If you keep track of the boost gauge and gas pedal, you should be ok. I did this for a few months, but you won't get the most of of it without some Engine Management and tuning.
