I just wouldn't buy a low-mile used STi (or much of any other low mile car for that matter).
There usually is a reason people ditch off a low-mile car. Take for example.......

I traded-in this car in after it was "repaired" with just over 10,000 miles. The car had about $25,000 worth of damage. The quality of the repair work performed by Mastro Subaru and Airport Body was IMO borderline criminal as the front seat belts were not torqued down when I took delivery after the repairs -- Mastro and Airport Body pointing fingers at each other. I didn't what else was ass-clowned so I decided I didn't want the car. The funny part is that the CarFax report still comes back as clean on the car. I fully disclosed the vehicle was in a accident when I traded the car in. The vehicle has swapped hands two or three times since I've owned it.
I don't mean to freak you out but watch very carefully what you are buying. It's easy to get excited and look over things when purchasing a car.

I know someone that has been in over five accidents last time I talked to him. These accidents are ranging from minor to all the airbags blowing open and the car is still clean as crap on a CarFax report.
The only thing I found which might or might not be helpful in purchasing a used Subaru is check the service history on the vehicle. If you looked at the service history of the above vehicle you would know something is clearly not right. The VIN number was apparently required by the dealership to order the needed parts for the repairs. There is another sign in the service history showing several minor "warrenty" repairs at various dealerships across the east coast to the vehicle after it was pawned off to what I'm guessing multiple unsuspecting owners. I'm fairly sure the system is linked between dealerships and any friendly employee at a Subaru dealership should be able to run this report.
