Bmp Thursday 06/30
Thursday 06/30 6 pm - 11 pm

Who wants to go? I need to get a baseline before I start the mods. Fyi there's no test n tune (both Thursday and Saturday) throughout July.
If I remember correctly Mantra said the earlier the better so I'll probably leave local around 4 - 4:30.

Anybody else want to go?
Matra if I call the number on their web page will they lmk if the track is open or not before I drive all the way down there?
I'm PRAYING they will be open as I want to get some 1/4 mile times in before my mods. If I don't what are the other 1/4 mile strips within a relative sane distance options?
http://www.nhra.com/streetlegal/division_2.html lists:
GAINESVILLE RACEWAY *
MOROSO MOTORSPORTS PARK *
ORLANDO SPEED WORLD DRAGWAY *
Orlando seems a good bet as I'll be up there dynoing Saturday...

Ok all you evil domestic type nay-sayers (i.e. "rainmakers").
It was a GREAT night if you got there early. I was the very first one there. Awww yeah. After not finding the entrance gate (since it wasn't open) 3 Mercury Maruders (2 supercharged, 1 sprayed) slipped in ahead of me. One didn't race so I ended up with the #3 on my car.
Temp was around 90, headwind around 4 - 8 mph, hot as all get out. Didn't do as well as I hoped but still ok I guess seeing as how it was my very first time out ever. Had an ABSOLUTE blast. Meant JonWrx around 8 right before it started pouring rain and Bmp announced they would not reopen.
Mantra you had it spot on on both accounts! 1) Get there early. I got in 11 runs by 7 pm. After that I got in 3 runs in one hour. 2) Some shitbox is going to blow. Somebody saw fit to strew parts of their car all over the track. Though I don't know which parts Another
Anyway here are my results:
Item-----Best-----Worst-----Avg-------Avg 3 best---Avg - 2 worst
rt-------.007-----.409------.1714------.0390--------.1343
60-------1.787----2.291-----1.9877----1.8373-------1.9855
1/4------13.705---14.791----14.0202---13.8673------14.1734
Mph-----97.91-----94.01-----95.6107---97.0033------95.5362
I did my research before hand and did what most recommended. That is launch around 5500, shift to 2nd @ 7000, shift to all others @ 6000.
I will say one thing: it is NOT as easy as it looks to do. Coordinating the tree, right rpms, right clutch slip... Definitely loved it though. I'm going to be hitting Sunshine Drag Strip up to get used to running.
