Well I get out of work today and the car starts acting funny, like cutting off fuel and shit. I check my turbo timer, it has a volt meter and sure enough it says 11.8 volts, I accelerate and it got to 12.6 top. I work in Orlando, live in Haines City about 30 miles, I made it to haines city and had the electrical system checked, sure enough bad alternator putting out 5 amps of the 70 it should put out

Anyways of course Autozone said they could not get it for the turbo model, but they could for the 2.5rs.

I get home and check the part numbers, and sure enough they are the same. I check the part number at Discount auto, they are the same, checked subaruonline.com and they are the same.

I guess I should be good buying the one for the 2.5rs. Just want to know if anyone knows for sure they fit, I mean they have the same part number so obviously is the same part.

I guess i'm just ranting because I hate autoparts stores, their experts don't know shit I always have to teach them and most of them think they know everything. This guy burnt his hand with the turbo, I got fucking bi ass intercooler pipes going everywhere, and big ass FMIC, and BOV that you can see, even the fucking turbo is right there and when we went inside he had to ask me if it was a 2.5 or the 2.0 turbo. When I said turbo he straight out just said, oh sir we don't carry parts for the turbos. Fuck autozone. Oh and the car only has 60k miles, and the alternator is gone

I think my alternator is fucking up also, at times my lights dim and flicker and somtimes the car almost shuts off... It has been pissing me off for the couple days.

 

Damn man sounds like you are having a bad day. Yeah a lot of people at autopart stores don't know anything. For instance one guy asked me if my car was a Supra I was like WTF? I said no and then he asked me if my car was twin turbo? I said no man it is a Subaru Wrx and has a single turbo. How could you get a Supra confused with a Wrx?

 

Yeah that's what mine was doing, and then it would not run no more.

This could be dangerous, your fuel pump starts cutting off, and if you are boosting, you will have no gas, the boom.

I started thinking, and I remembered when my brother was more into Subarus, he wanted to find an XT-6, AWD 5speed, his dream car in college, I ended up buying another one those were fun
Anyways, he bought his car from this guy who turned out to be the only mechanic for Classic Subaru in Orlando, so I called him up, and sure enough he had one laying around, he took of a car with 3k miles, a warranty repair that turned out to be something else, so this thing is pretty much new. He also has a 5k turbo, but it's the factory wrx one, a brand new, well rebuilt tranny, an whole WRX engine, a bunch of subaru heads, and parts, well anything.

The bitch is that I drove all the way from haines city, to bithlo by the track to his house to pick it up. I mean no problem I'm saving like $100 bucks plus shipping and wait time. Here's the problem I came back home, took the old one out and it has a different plug , I mean it only took 5 min to take off, but , so I call him up and he says, I'm sorry I had to and gave you the wrong one I got the other one here.

God Damnit!!! He kinda wanted me to go all the way back there to swap for the right one. I told him no. So I got him to meet me 1/2 way in kissimmee. I wanted the car for tonight, but oh well, it should be rolling around tomorrow
