"go with the 6spd tranny, RA gears are for people that want to half ass it!"

Is a whole lot different than

"go with the 6spd tranny. I don't like the RA gear ratios, especially top speed in 4th"

*shrug*

That's weird, i was under the impression that the jdm sti 6mt had similar gear ratios to the RA gears The USDM sti 6mt can be mated to the ej20 as well, but then you have to get all the necessary components for the dccd. I've heard leaving the dccd disconnected should only be temporary. Most people swap used jdm sti 6mt w/out dccd.

I figured the 6spd, clutch, inlet hose, AEM, and tuning will run me about $8,500. Oh yea I got my turbo about a week ago

Cliff notes: get the 6sp

If you have the funds for it, I would say just be patient and get the 6sp. If you aren't patient, you'll spend the money on the ra gears now, break them, then spend the money on the 6sp later anyway. Besides, once you get used to your new setup, you'll want more, and the 6sp will allow you to do so.
