Default APS tapered flex uppipe.

Anybody heard good or bad things about these? I decided to install an uppipe myself to save $$$ on something i can do myself. My main question is, would the taper in the pipe make a difference, and is this pipe worth paying $100 more than other flex uppipes? Please give me facts, not opinions on APS products being overpriced. Thanks.

I have heard good things, especially for the WRX. I heard that the WRX stock up pipe will crack when you change to a bigger turbo. I don't know first hand just what I heard.

"Is it worth it" is subjective. Nobody can really answer that for you.

Is it worth it to pay $385 for one made out of Inconel?

I have not heard anything bad about the APS piece.

You really need to ask this question to a larger audience (if you haven't already).

It's a nice uppipe and if you can find it for $250, then get it.

Pros:

Tapered design
Flex section with w/SS innertube (prevents exhaust gases from touching flex material)
Cast Iron to keep the heat in

Cons:

Expensive
Cast Iron design prevents from tapping an aftermarket egt gauge (no welding)

After my MRT Flex Uppipe blew out, I had to make a decision fast (no down time) and Mastro had one in stock. Works great and gained about 100 rpm in spool up (no SHIT!). Also helps having RA gears too. Good luck with the install.

Just drill and tap threads into it if you need one. Same thing works on the cast iron exhaust manifold.
