I am thinking about replacing the axel-backs on my LGT, because I am not too happy with the sound of the stock mufflers. Here is what they look like stock:



If I get replacement mufflers I will also get replacement tips. The tips in these pictures are Magnaflow 4" tips and are 7.5" long:




They fit perfectly and look nice, but I want dual tips like this:




because I think they look the best.

Here's my problem. The shortest dual angled tips I can find are 10" long. I think they will look like this(excluding the staggered effect):




but I don't want them to stick out like that, plus the tips I found are not staggered. Here they are:

Straight


Angled


I did some measuring and the replacement mufflers are about the same size as stock, 14" long. Also, the stock tips (~6") are a little shorter than the 4" round Magnaflow tips (7.5"). What do you guys think I should do? Sorry for such a long post, but I wanted to make sure everyone understands what I'm talking about.

I think I like the single tips best, However the dual tips look good also. Honestly Eric.....I think the sickest alternative would be to just get a Electric cutout dump You could just be idling silently and then open the cutout and Bwabwabwabwabwabwa! Music to your ears, but oh....wait here comes a cop to give you an exhaust ticket.......Um, *closes cutuout* officer I don't know what you are talking about......my car is stock

 

the dual makes it look like a m5, i like the dual

 

The single tips are also the cheapest. The cutouts are sick. I drove my WRX for 2 hours with no mufflers and it was loud, racecar loud, but I think it's too loud for my tastes.

 

Which dual do you like more, the one on the black or the one on the silver LGT?

Id say single tip. DTM look kinda weird on a Legacy.

 

Thats the prob. way too Euro looking w/dual. The car looks way Euro already IMHO....

 

Dual tips look bad. Just do the single.

 

Dual tips rule! Get them if you can.
