Smile About to turbo my RS

In about a month my 01 RS will be boosted. The only down side to adding a turbo would be I can only run 5 to 6 psi because of the high compression ratio witch is 10.0:1. But even at a low psi the turbo kit (TSi kit on turbo-kits.com) claims to add 112 HP to the crank. The kit comes with a garrett t25 turbo w/ wastegate,up pipe, down pipe, map unit,TSi BOV,TSi high flow front-mount intercooler w/ piping. all hoses and lines for water and oil,2 injectors & interface block,TSi ICU w/ turbo timer. My RS has about 190 to 200 HP as of right now with 1/4 mile time at 15.112 @ 88 mph.Bill at Mastro doesn't think it will be worth it, he says i should just buy a WRX. But after I am finished with this project Bill might think otherwise .I hope to be running with the STi's.

Good call, Alex.

Do what YOU want to do man.

Also, not saying any names in particular, but my years on forums in everything from Paintball to Cars, as well as in day-to-day acquaintances, I have noticed one type of person to prevail ~ pseudo-experts pertaining to their field. These are people who only like to stick to one way of thinking. Ya gotta have a slightly broad way of looking at it. Your project might defy convention, but it might also be a great project in terms of a learning experience as well as high power gains on da skreet.

Again, do the research and if its something you want to do, do it.

If you want a turbo kit, get a FAT one, AVO one, or make your own. The turbokits.com one is shit. With a stock bottom end, you'll be able to hang with modified wrx's probably. Not quite sti territory I'm afraid though.

Sounds cool. May want to think about adding water injection for some overhead with that high compression. Sounds like you may have to go with stand alone EM to make it all work. Good luck and keep us up to date!

I don't think you'll need 300 hp to hang with an sti. Don't the GC's weigh a fuck ton less? Best of luck with your project
