You used "flat black paint" to seal the wrap? I'm not too sure that's a good idea. Here you go: http://www.thermotec.com/products/full/12001/12001.html

I would highly suggest trimming up the turbo heat to fit over your aftermarket downpipe. Here is a thread with some general instructions on trimming:

0.

You dont need to seal the wrap with anything, its allready that coating on the wrap. I used 1200% header paint, for the main reason that the wrap is white. and when it gets broken in it will turn brown, yellow, orange in the hott spots. Its just for looks you dont need to do it for anyreason other that its pritty

Im not sure that heat wrap would be what the inercooler pipes would call for. I think something more like a insulated heat blanket, designed to block the heat on the out side and keep the pipe cool underneath. this is a interesting idea im going to research this further.

cool it makes a therno sleve that would be perfect and fit the intercooler pipes like a glove. the down side is it looks to be 25.00 for a 2 1/2 foot piece

The sealant is optional but highly recommended by the manufacturer. YMMV. The wrap part number you linked on the first page isn't a pre-treated and I also noticed that from what I can tell the pre-treated wrap products they used to offer seem to have all been discountiued.

Either way, sounds good.
