gordy, i still have the instructions for my useless turbo timer. just remind me when you come over tomorrow and you can take them.

and my timer isn't useless, because i don't want to waste time sitting in it waiting for it to cool down, and i like running hard right into my garage.

I see a TT has a safety precaution, many car companies who use the "new" design turbo bearings install a secondary oil pump that will pump oil after a car has been shut off till it reaches a certain temp, Audi is well known for this, putting them in the S4 and the 225 TT. Other european car companies do this too (I believe SAAB but not 100%). I see it as a waste on a stock car, but on one where the boost or turbo has been modified I see it as a good step, like upgrading to a 180deg thermostat, it physically does nothing for the car, until it fails, then it just fails in the open position as opposed to the closed position, trust me $90 is alot cheaper than $500+. if you cant justify it to yourself, thats fine, but I can, and did.

One still needs to take a cool down lap at the track and perhaps should not stop at the top of a mountain pass to enjoy the view if you have been on the boost all the way up
this was what i was talking about. i like to run it hard more often than most, and i don't want to sit in my car while it idles. i know it's not necessary when you've been cruising along to the grocery store.

side note: next time you're driving "spiritedly" at night, pull over in a dark area (no street lights), turn off your headlights, pop the hood and look at your turbo. that bitch will glow orange!!!! this convinced me to get a turbo timers. for those occasions i've got the thing glowing orange. this is good, an actual tech debate for once!!
