subaru?
Im looking in to buying a 95 impreza for 1900. It has eveything working fine. The guy said that the brakes are going to be replaced soon, but I can do that myself. He said its the 2.2L engine in it. And its a automatic, thats the only thing that sucks.
I was just wondering what you guys thought of it and what you think of the price. I would really like to get this, since the price (I think) is right.
What do you guys think?

i'd get it checked out by someone who knows Subarus well.. and find out what the "common" issues for that car are..
quite reliable daily drivers though if you treat em well and keep them maintained.. i'm going to be going that same route soon.

If everything seems to be in good working order and you feel the price is fair, I'd say go for it. Check for the normal things that you would when buying a used car...check the fluid lines, cooland, oil, look for PS leaks, around the valve covers and heads the best you can, etc.
I bought my 93 Impreza for $500 here at Mastro. Runs like a champ and can out-brake most of the WRXs here
Just check for oil leaks and more importantly coolant leaks. Head gaskets are a bitch in Subarus since you have to pull the motor.
You can always have the owner meet you here at Mastro Subaru and we can check it out.

the guys said that the brakes are probably going to need to be replaced. I have replaced brakepads before, so that wouldnt be hard, but I was wondering how hard is it to replace the whole roater/caliper? I feel that I could do it, just wondering what you guys have to say.
Oh, and what is this mastro? not sure, I live in the orlando area.

yeah most if not all subaru parts are interchangable. Look for rust on the car too, if it came from up north.
I was looking for an impreza for a while an was willing to spend 3k, so you are gettign a good deal.
Its an 2.2L and those come with autos, otherwise it would be a 1.8L manual.
Have fun.
Good Luck!
