Unhappy 3" downpipe mated to OEM catback = leak; suggestions?

I installed the Helix downpipe today mated to the stock catback(Prodrive axleback) and I'm stuck with a exhaust leak at the top side of the flange (downpipe|leak|catback). I happened to have two sets of gaskets and I attempted to double up and just as expected that didn't help at all. I didn't have this problem when I installed a HKS downpipe on my WRX to a stock catback so I didn't really expect to have a problem this time around.

I'm looking for suggestions. I really don't want to purchase a 3" catback to resolve the issue but I guess I will if I have to. Do you think if I took it to a muffler shop they might be able to do something aside from using liquid gasket without costing much?

lol; that's not an option.

I'm seriously just considering getting a 3" catback. I really not that impressed with the way the Prodrive sounds on the STi. I honestly thought that going catless(since my WRX was catless) would make it sound better but it still sounds lacking compared to the note on the 2.0l.

Issues aside the downpipe really woke the STi up. I can't wait for a reflash.

I used brand new gaskets. I even attempted to use two brand new gaskets.

Im not sure what its like on the STi but if you have the 2 brackets (one tranny and the other near the mid-pipe side of the DP) Id try not bolting them up until you get the DP bolted to the MP, just a thought

I've tried everything including loosening those brackets.

After driving around all weekend I really don't think I can deal with anything louder than the Prodrive being catless (It's pretty damn loud at WOT). I'm going to take it to an exhaust shop and see what it will cost for a custom pipe to be made or for them to modify the OEM with a new flange. Any suggestions? I guess a place like Midas should be able to handle a simple pipe like this?

I hear north tampa customs is pretty good with exhausts, I know mad hatters are great off of dale I believe, and rainbow muffler in st pete they all do great custom work.

I had a problem with my helix dp, not that it didn't fit, but that it forced my midpipe too far over and was rattling on the underbody, I undid both of those bolts completely and then moved everything around in their hangers a few times and got it in 5 min to line up perfect and stop that rattling
