Default Sti pricing range, tips?

Hey guys,
Im selling my conquest after basic military training (i leave A-P-R-I-L 27th, back to NC A-P-R-I-L 19) so i will have about $5k down if not more, depending on tech school length. I was quoted by a dealer for around $400/month.
Any tips about dealer? I heard somewhere there is a $1200 mark up you can knock-off...Trying to get my payments as low as I can because I know the insurance will get me.
jeff
I dont know why it wont let me write this month, but maybe its an ***** ***** joke.

$5K down and $400 a month? not too sure about that. i financed about $22K on my wrx at 4.4% and it's $410 a month. unless you get hella-low financing through the service.

i haven't heard anything about a $1200 markup, but i'll leave that up to some of the guys that have bought the STI to chime in. good luck though, bad ass car.

the new subaru ad is 0.9% APR for 63 months on the STi or $750 cash back. I was quoted for ~400 month through subaru's website. but im sure I can get it cheaper...maybe even more if i come up with more down, i can come up with $10k easy after in service, i got this thing with buying rebuilding wrecks and junk, my uncle goes to auctions so i could see that 10k in a couple months, i would think that would help, wondering what other ppl got.

I know somebody that put $5k down and is only paying $350/60months. I believe his interest rate was at best around 7 or 8 percent.

Cool beans, Thats where I want to be in payments because i know car insurance with full coverage will be the same as payment if not more...who knows
jeff
But i have my license from NC because my NY one got revoked and their liability which is really really good cost me $39/month.
So maybe buying from NC might help

The invoice pricing is $28,695 not including destination charges and dealer fees bs. Assuming there is one or two STi's sitting on the lot I wouldn't pay too much over invoice plus the destination and dealer fee.

Let's assume for this example; $30,000 (including dest, dealer, tag and title) with 7% tax and a loan with good credit at 4.0% (current best is going to be 3.9%) with $5,000 cash down (not a trade):

60mo = $500/mo
48mo = $611/mo
36mo = $800/mo

Insurance is starting to catch on and rates are really climbing with many companies. GEICO recently doubled my rate on the STi with no tickets, married, good credit, 27 years old, home owers, long time customers so we switched over to All State Insurance for a more reasonable rate. The STi is currently rated the highest possible risk vehicle with All State Insurance based on claims.

Don't forget about gas.
