Question...
Lately I have been hearing about alout of STIs and WRXs loosing to SRT-4s, in the video forum they have a video of even Integra type Rs wooping up on the Subaru cars.....My question is that why are AWD cars so slow from a roll...If a srt-4 has about 240 BHP and the sti has 300 bhp the why can srt-4s beat STIs from the roll...the difference between them is about 60 hp...this shouldnt happen...STIs should destroy SRT4s from rolls but they dont...either they get beat or its a very close race....can someone explain to my this is..thanks
I haven't seen a single stock SRT-4 do anything to a STi. The SRT-4 responds really well to simple bolt on modification so it doesn't take much for one to hand some ass down to a stock STi on a roll.

Parasitic Drivetrain lose.
The SRTs are making damn close to their flywheel rated HP numbers at the wheels where as the STis I've seen are making about 260ish at the wheels. So, the power gap isn't as big as you mentioned above.
Plus from a roll the STi suffers again because of the AWD while trying to accelerate and get power to all 4 wheels and not just 2 like the SRT.
And, another thing I've noticed about alot of WRX/STi owners I've run across...they really can't drive all that well.

What he said yo ^....although...I think that STi's are made for better things than driving in a straight line....just my 2 sents

i know dynos are tricky and all, but i've seen stock sti dyno charts from 220-260. Also, the Srt-4 is underrated on paper with its quoted crank hp. So i think they are quite similar in whp. They also both trap around 102 i believe so from a roll they should be pretty competitive. Now from a stop, it's just another story.
